A Sculptor’s Journey: From Concept to Completion and Points In Between: Jason Scull | Local | Water-Based Clay
In this class, students will explore the aspects of taking an idea from its inception to thumbnail, to pinch model, to the armature, to creating volume with the application of clay with attention to anatomical correctness. Each of the stages, coupled with originality and imagination, have importance in achieving the goal of a finished sculpture, the realization of the sculptor’s vision. Students will be covering relatable scale in their work: the human figure and its relation to horses, other animals and their environment. Students will learn armature construction in a manner that will allow greater freedom when sculpting horses, cattle and other quadrupeds. Participants can expect instructor demonstrations and one on one attention. The goal is for students to leave inspired and with more than they came with. www.jasonscull.com
