Tonal Landscapes: Richie Carter | Workshop | Oil

This four-day oil painting workshop with Richie Carter will focus on painting low light tonal landscapes. Students will be working from photo references to complete at least one small preliminary study in order to realize one larger rendition of the same scene and undertake the challenges that come along with this process. The workshop will address how to use photo references to create a painting. Students will learn a subdued tonal palette as well as various techniques with which to render low light scenes. Students will learn over the course of four days, both direct and indirect painting methods.
