Abstraction/Representation Maturity of Painting: Brighton Demerest-Smith I Local I Oil

Demerest-Smith (MFA) has a wealth of experience including 10 solo shows of his large-scale nature-based paintings. This class will bridge the gap between representation, design, and abstraction in a hands-on studio environment. In this class students will explore creating multiple designs for paintings on a theme, moving from an academic study of painting into a mature way of creating paintings. The class will blend abstract forms of thinking about images with the principles of representational art. This class is for anyone who would like to take their work to a whole new level and find a uniquely individual image making process!
