This is an observationally based course designed to reinforce and develop skills beyond basic drawing and painting. Students will work with a variety of subjects: still-life, portrait and figure. In addition to working from direct observation, photographs also provide great source material. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with size and subject, as well as to explore their media as a tool for invention, conceptualization, and idea development. The course also affords students an opportunity to take a look at materials in more breadth and depth.
