Paint a forest stream in the dead of winter. Capture the sparkling, chilly essence of water cascading over icy rocks and snowy banks - from our cozy studio! Techniques will be demonstrated to address the various puzzles with which the artist is faced when painting this stunning, fascinating and challenging subject!
- Basic “anatomy” of a waterfall…
- Learn to paint rocks with their caps of snow…
- Paint the surrounding forest vegetation, twigs, etc…
- The painting process – keeping it manageable…
- Creative use of color - painting white with rainbow colors…
- And NOT painting white – through negative painting…
- Aiming for a plein air “feel” and sensitivity in your painting when working from photos …
There will be demos, instruction at all levels, critique and lots of painting time. Class time will be structured, yet open enough to accommodate the artistic spirit within us all. All levels are welcome and encouraged to attend. The only prerequisite is an attitude of joy in the act of painting!
