Scottsdale Artists' School Celebrates Landscape Artists

Scottsdale, Ariz (11/12/08) Scottsdale Artists' School Celebrates Landscape Artists
Kevin Macpherson and Matt Smith demonstrate their skills

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (November 12, 2008) – The Scottsdale Artists’ School hosted a successful demonstration with two of America’s foremost landscape painters, Matt Smith and Kevin Macpherson this past weekend. The demonstrations were held across the street from the school at the Stagebrush Theatre on Saturday, November 8th. Matt Smith kicked off the day at 9 AM and painted until 12 Noon. There was a catered lunch by Arcadia Farms in the school’s courtyard with a few hours for the participants to relax and socialize. After lunch wrapped up, Kevin Macpherson began his demonstration at 2 PM and it ran until 5 PM.

Immediately following the artists’ demonstrations, the Scottsdale Artists' School hosted a private wine and cheese reception for the artist’s and the participants, where Smith and Macpherson’s work was exhibited and sold.

The creative juices kept rolling through Sunday for a Coffee & Critique session at 9 AM. During the critique, students enrolled in both demonstrations were able to submit a digital image ahead of time for Smith and Macpherson to review and share feedback.

The event was a great success and all participants took away some wonderful insights from the demonstration and memories of the weekend.
