Wende Caporale holds a BFA from Paier College and continued her studies at the Art Students’ League and the National Academy in New York, and in private workshops. She has been featured in numerous publications, including Pure Color, The Best of Pastel, Pastel Interpretations, Best of Pastel 2 and The art of Pastel Portraiture. She received a cover feature in Pastel Journal in 2007. Her book, Painting Children’s Portraits in Pastel has been selling worldwide since 2001. The New York Times has referred to Caporale as “a leader in the field” of children’s portraiture. She is a regular participant and demonstrator at the Portrait Society of America’s annual conference. Her work has garnered numerous awards at museums and national exhibitions. Caporale and her husband, artist David E. Greene, N.A. and their daughter, Avignon, live in North Salem, NY.
