Gerald P. Hodge
Gerald P. Hodge GERALD P. HODGE is well known for his trompe l’oeil paintings and for his scientific art which includes botanical, entomological, medical and archaeological subjects. His award-winning work has appeared in numerous juried, invitation, and one-man shows, and has been reproduced in hundreds of journals and textbooks. Most recently, he displayed paintings at the Vero Beach Museum of Art’s exhibition “The Reality of Things, Trompe l’Oeil in America." The paintings were published in the exhibition catalog. Hodge received his BFA in painting from the University of Colorado and completed his graduate work in medical art at Johns Hopkins University. He is Professor Emeritus of Art at the University of Michigan. He has given workshops for the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, the Association of Medical Illustrators, the Smithsonian Institution, and the New York Botanical Garden. He is one of seven members of the Trompe l’Oeil Society of Artists.
