Description: My former teacher Dan McCaw used to say that all you need for a good painting is the right shapes with the right color and the right value. It is a simple but powerful idea. This class will focus on those fundamentals. You will learn to see shapes, simplify values and develop a stronger sense of color. Specific exercises will be combined with open painting of still life set-ups and costumed models that will be valuable for painters of all levels. I will do some general demonstrating, but most of the time you will be painting with individual attention tailored to your needs. Pastels and oils are welcome. www.allengarns.com
